Worship Expo 2008 Has Been Postponed to 2009

In an effort to better plan and prepare for the needs of our targeted audience, the Worship Expo executive staff has decided to postpone the 2008 conference until 2009.  Information for the 2009 conference including dates, times, location, and faculty line-up will be posted on the official worship expo website during the summer of 2008.  We are grateful for your prayers as we follow God’s leadership and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you spoke with us at the BCMD Annual Meeting back in November and setup your registrations, please contact us at info@worshipexpo.com for more information.

Worship Expo 2008

Bcf_2 We are pleased to begin announcing the line up for the next Mid-Atlantic Worship Expo.  On Friday night, Billy & Cindy Foote will be leading our opening worship session.  Billy's songwriting credits include "You Are God Alone (Not A God)," "Sing To The King," You Are My King (Amazing Love)," just to name a few.  Billy will also be leading our first-ever song writing workshops during the Saturday breakouts.

Gg_2 The Footes will be joined by Gerrit Gustafson, author of The Adventure of Worship, as our Conference Pastor and keynote speaker. Gerrit served as a church planting pastor and teacher for 15 years before becoming part of the original Creative Team of Integrity Music in 1985. He is currently leading seminars and working with his company, Whole-Hearted Worship.

Saturday's workshops are going to be nothing short of amazing in 2008.  We have a few surprises for those who are Worship Expo regulars.  Also new for 2008, we will be featuring a new, stream-lined registration process that will enable participants to easily see and manage their groups.  The workshops and registration information will be released within a few days.

LIVE! From Worship Expo

Jalo_2 God continues to open doors and rain blessings on our conference.  Our newly signed guest worship leader, Jason Lovins, will be recording his next album, LIVE, at our conference!  This will take place at the final session on Saturday afternoon.

Jason and I have been getting to know each other in our many recent phone conversations in preparation for the conference.  In those conversations, I have sensed the presence of the Lord as He continues to work out the details of the conference.  I just read Jason's official bio as I posted it and was floored by his life's testimony.  Please take a moment to read more about Jason on our Conference Leaders page. This is going to be so awesome!

Saturday Workshops

Because of our recent changes in personnel, we have been reorganizing our offerings for workshops on Saturday.  We are working hard at getting the workshop titles and descriptions posted as we get them from our new faculty members.

To answer your workshop questions in a general sense, your teams will continue to receive a high level of training in these areas:

  • Media Team Workshops by Midnight Oil Productions
  • Rhythm Section Workshops by the Jason Lovins Band
  • Guitar Workshops by Karry Godwin
  • Vocal Workshops by Del Morgan
  • Small church ministry workshops by Sherri McKay and Marvin Copaus
  • Dance Ministry Workshops by Dawn Pruskowski
  • Audio Workshops
  • Children's Worship Resources
  • New Worship Resources

If you have registered for the conference, you will receive a complete list of workshops and the times they'll be offered before you arrive.

Resurrection Sunday Wrap-up

We had an awesome time of worship yesterday at First Baptist Laurel.  For me, it started by attending our sunrise service which was held on the site of our new campus!  The regular services were full of energy and people met with the Lord in a special way.

My favorite moment of the morning was remembering scenes from The Passion of the Christ while we sang "Hallelujah! What A Savior" arranged by Tommy Walker.  I'll never get over the price that was paid for my sin.  What a privilege it is to lead our congregations into His presence every week - and especially on Easter Sunday!

I'd love to hear how your services went yesterday.  Leave a comment describing your favorite moment at your church.
